Beach Chat with Sharon Hopkins

If the “Hopkins” name in the blog title has a hint of deja-vu to it, it’s because we just chatted with her husband Bill last Friday.  Sharon is the second half of The Deadly Duo, a husband/wife mystery-writing household.  I can’t imagine their dinner conversations, can you?  But Bill's at home while we chat with Sharon today.

Full name: Sharon Woods Hopkins

Recommend a Beach Read: The Devil’s Madonna, a suspense/ thriller by my friend Sharon Potts.

Most cherished beach memory: Going to the beach with my Uncle John when I was about seven. He taught me to swim, but not before he nearly drowned me.

One author, living or dead, with whom you’d like to sip Mai Tais with on Waikiki Beach:
Sue Ann Jaffarian, because she has a similarly quirky sense of humor as I do. I’m just sure we would find all kinds of funny things. Especially after about three Mai Tais

Worst non-writing job you ever had: Making cotton candy at a concession stand in a park, when I was a senior in high school. I always managed to get ten pounds of spun sugar in my hair.

Favorite quote or saying: "If you want to get something done, get a busy person to do it."

Song that you dance to (when no one is watching): "Rock Me Gently” by Andy Kim (go ahead and dance…we’re not watching…promise!)

Three of your favorite things: coffee, more coffee, better coffee

Two secret vices: Muscle cars, and coffee. Oh, did I already mention coffee?

One pet peeve: when my favorite convenience store runs out of my sugar free cappuccino.
